I am one of two worship pastors at South Church in Lansing, MI. I started here at the beginning of 2011. I have been a worship pastor/worship leader since 2002 and been in music ministry (in one form or another) since 1991. I
grew up in Woodstock, Illinois, a smaller town near Chicago. I studied composition, voice, and conducting at Eastern Illinois University and the University of Southern California Thornton
School of Music. I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Composition at those schools respectively. In 2009 I received my Certificate of Christian Ministry from the Evangelical Free Church of America.
In my early years of
ministry I co-founded Stretch, a mens a capella group, that toured the Midwest and East Coast in the early to mid 1990s. Since then I have served in the local church as worship leader or worship pastor in Pasadena, CA, Cleveland, OH, and now Lansing, MI. I have led worship in blended, contemporary and traditional settings. I've written a variety of compositions from children's music to sacred arrangements, to choir and orchestral scores, and I've conducted many sacred and classical pieces.
